October 1999 update

The 98-99 was a big year for Joe, especially the playoffs where he was able to dominate. 99-00 looks to be a breakout year for Big Joe. Here are his latest career stats:

YEAR TM GP G A PTS +/- PIM PPG SOG PCT

97-98 Bos 55 3 4 7 -6 19 0 33 9.1

98-99 Bos 81 16 25 41 3 69 7 128 12.5

99-00 Bos 9 1 4 5 1 2 0 22 4.5

Stay tuned for more high-light goals... Phil 10-22-99

Previously...

Some people feel that Joe had a bad year for his
rookie year, only netting 3 goals. As a 18 year old
thrown into the fire, he did a good job, considering
he spent most of the year on a checking line with
Ken Baumgartner. I wouldn't expect him to score
very many goals in that situation.
But he did learn to focus on the defensive half of
the game, and this will pay off big time in the future.
If you check my links to the left, you will find a
story explaining that for the first time in his life,
Joe is eating right, working out daily, and is
adding muscle to his frame. I just hope that the added
muscle does not slow down his skating, but it won't.
It looks like Joe will get a chance to be the 2nd
line center, which will give him a chance to be
creative offensively, and score alot of points. This
will be a huge plus for the Bruins, who will miss
Kyle mclaren for sure, but should be more potent
offensively.
HERE WE GO BRUINS, HERE WE GO
Prediction: 40 goals this year.
